Review : Maharshi

The movie is about Rishi played by Mahesh Babu who is the CEO of a massive MNC in the United States. He wants to be the best and in the pursuit to prove his worthiness he becomes a workaholic and forgets several past relationships. Things are smooth for Rishi until one day he comes to know about the person behind his success. His friend Ravi Kumar played by Allari Naresh has been the pillar of his success. Rishi also comes to know that Ravi who stays in Ramapuram, a small village is in trouble. Leaving back his rich lifestyle and work Rishi rushes to rescue his friend.

Plus Points

Mahesh Babu is a perfectionist. He fits every type of role given to him and he seems to execute it perfectly on the big screen. Allari Naresh looks skillful aside Mahesh too. Other characters including Pooja Hedge have done a commendable job. Although Pooja’s role was not required in the movie, but it probably worked because the filmmaker had to show that Rishi has a girlfriend.

Minus Points

The movie is lengthy and draggy. It gets quite predictable towards the end.

Technical Aspects

Maharshi has been directed by Vamsi Paidipally. The producers of the movie are Dil Raju, C. Ashwini Dutt and Prasad V. Potluri. The music for the movie has been given by Devi Sri Prasad.

There are too many emotional scenes and the typical commercial movie lovers may not like it definitely has a good story and the subject that the movie touches on the plight of our farmers is surely admirable.
